Ready for some mind-blowing nutritional research? A study in the journal Pediatrics reports that parents ought to avoid giving their kids sports drinks and energy drinks. In fact, caffeine should be avoided in general, as should caloric drinks with the exception of no- and low-fat milk.
This is, of course, with the exception of "elite child athletes," who can drink some Gatorade every once in awhile to rehydrate. Water is good enough for lesser beings.
