San Francisco's Slaughterhouse Problem

san-francisco-slaughterhouse-150.jpgLocal-foods obsessed San Francisco has one little problem preventing them from being the ultimate locavore paradise: there's a slaughterhouse shortage. Meaning "ranchers must often truck their grass-fed cattle hundreds of miles to the nearest plant" and then back again, which sort of negates the whole point of eating locally-raised meat, doesn't it?
