Ever thought to yourself, man, I really wish I could buy a soda for my friend/mom/work acquaintance/ex-boyfriend/fourth grade teacher, but they live on the other side of the country? Pepsi is making that dream a reality with their new "social vending system," a network of special vending machines with which you can buy a drink for someone, or pick up a drink someone has bought for you, regardless of either person's location. You can even record a video message for the recepient! Which is kind of neat? Here's a video of how it works:
