Nathan's Ends Hot Dog Contest Prize Gender Gap

We have achieved equality between men and women! In the world of competitive eating, at least: Officials from the annual Nathan's Famous hot dog-eating contest have announced that they're increasing the grand prize for the women's division to $10,000 — which is equal to the men.

Originally, the women's champion was going to take home a mere $2,500, until blogs (like this one) caused a stink, former contestants mentioned the women might like more money, and fans contacted Nathan's to express their displeasure.
