Ramsay Claims 'No Involvement' in Sexual Harassment Accusation, NYC Restaurant

British chef Gordon Ramsay would like to be kept out of a scandal at Gordon Ramsay at the London NYC in which sexual harassment accusations led to the temporary closure of the restaurant. After a commis chef filed a complaint with the state, upset chefs staged a walk out and are currently suspended without pay.

And this morning the New York Post reported that customers will be expected to pay for the time off: an internal memo says prices at the restaurant may jump by 22% when the restaurant reopens next week.

Anyway, a spokesperson contacted us last night and told us that Ramsay is not involved with the restaurant in any way, writing, "Neither Gordon Ramsay or GRH have any involvement with or responsibility for the operation of the restaurant, including anything to do with human resources which is entirely the responsibility of the owners."

He has also "not been served with any proceedings and these allegations do not relate to him in anyway." Here's the entire statement from his spokesperson:

“Gordon Ramsay has not been served with any proceedings and these allegations do not relate to him in anyway. The restaurant ‘Gordon Ramsay’ at The London, New York is not owned or operated by Gordon Ramsay or Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) and hasn’t been since November 2009 when all operations were handed back to the hotel. Neither Gordon Ramsay or GRH have any involvement with or responsibility for the operation of the restaurant, including anything to do with human resources which is entirely the responsibility of the owners.”

The Post still maintains that a complaint was filed against him with the state, which is maybe different than the "proceedings" referred to here? Either way, Ramsay's name will likely still be attached to the whole thing, seeing as it's also the name of the restaurant and all.
