Chef José Andrés announced the news of a new reality show on NBC coming this fall called Desperate Chefs' Wives. Featuring his wife and the wives of Tom Colicchio, Anthony Bourdain, Eric Ripert, and (huh?) Conan O'Brien, the show presumably will have the ladies getting Botox, getting drunk, and fighting (often all at the same time), all the while complaining that their husbands are always off shooting a TV show somewhere in the Caribbean or East Asia.
Ripert is unhappy that his wife signed on for the show "without having signed with a talent agency first." Bourdain, meanwhile, is somewhat of a fan of the Real Housewives franchise, having recently written, "I am fascinated by REAL HOUSEWIVES of NEW JERSEY, but can only watch a few minutes at a time. It's too ugly. Like donkey porn, or Brit Porn. You can only watch a few seconds before needing to take your brain out and boil it." Maybe he's not on board?
