tabla-150.jpgWell-known Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio, who owns 28 restaurants in 12 countries, will open a branch of his Lima-based restaurant and now international chain La Mar Cebicheria in New York in what was restaurateur Danny Meyer's now-closed Indian restaurant Tabla. The first U.S. branch opened in San Francisco three years ago. Bloomberg critic Ryan Sutton tweets: "if danny meyer couldn't fill up 283 seats at tabla, a darn good indian spot, then i'm sorry things don't bode well for big-box PERUVIAN food." [-ENY-]
