A Hardee's franchise has closed all of its 32 locations in Cairo due to looting amid the ongoing political protests. A spokeswoman for the fast food chain said she was unsure whether the restaurants were targeted as American businesses, but rather that "the damage is believed to be associated with general looting."
One of the Hardee's is located in Tahrir Square, one of the main centers of the Egyptian protests. The closures are believed to be temporary.
