Art Smith's Lyfe to Conquer America With 250 Locations

Chef, healthy eating advocate, and marathon runner Art Smith is teaming up with a couple of former McDonald's execs and New York Times bestselling vegan cookbook author Tal Ronnen to launch Lyfe Kitchen in Palo Alto, California this summer. The name stands for "Love Your Food Everyday" and the restaurant will feature eco-friendly construction and healthier versions of comfort food like burgers and fries.

Smith and company are already in talks to open other Bay Area locations, but that's just the beginning: they seem to have an eye towards taking over the whole country, and plans are in motion for 250 additional Lyfe Kitchens to be built over the next five years. That's a lot of restaurants!
