Say you're skiing at 10,000 feet, and you have a hankering for a burrito, whatever are you to do? Well, if you happen to be skiing at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in the Sierra Nevada range east of San Francisco, there are not one but two food trucks built onto snowcats that deliver food to the slopes. The Roving Mammoths, as they are called, serve two kinds of fare: one serves burritos (including one for breakfast) and the other calzones.
There are also plans to introduce churros filled with strawberries and cream cheese. Notice the hand held theme? Food you can eat with your gloves on!
And of course, like any good food truck, they tweet their location, although they share an account with the resort as a whole. Attention flat land, warm weather food trucks: the bar has been raised.
