Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito, also known as the guys behind Brooklyn's Baked bakery, have signed yet another cookbook deal with Stewart, Tabori & Chang — they've already written two books, Baked and Baked Explorations. This time, though, the deal is for a series of single-subject books that the team tells Eater is "a tip of the hat to the old school Time Life series stuff." So expect to see subjects like Baked Birthday Cakes, Baked Bundts and Baked Bites. Lewis explained the vision to Eater:
"We will definitely add technique and finishing elements (something we have not really added to our previous books) and since our publisher is letting us do whatever we want (i.e. they will let us muck it up however we see fit), we are fairly certain 50% of the book will be completely absurd...maybe half the recipes will be inspired by C list celebrities (imagine a Mindy Cohn cake) or maybe not. Either way, the recipes will rock."
So there you are, a cookbook series for the absurdists out there. No release date availalbe, but stay tuned.
