Here now, Atlanta chef Linton Hopkins (Restaurant Eugene, Holeman & Finch Public House, H&F Bread Co., and H&F Bottle Shop) on his pick:

The Mauviel Copper Potato Steamer. I love this gift. We live in a world with so many gadgets that perform a myriad of functions that I am often drawn to the ones which serve one purpose and perform that purpose at the highest level. Hot water simmers in the base with the potatoes sitting on a grate above. The cone shape creates an ideal convection current so that they all steam at the same rate. There is nothing like setting this pot in the middle of a table and inviting guests to pull a potato out, crack it open and garnish with caviar, butter and a little sea salt. Add some yeasty champagne and you have the perfect holiday party.
