Here now, coffee expert (he's writing a book on it) Oliver Strand:

Right now I'm in love with my Porlex Mini coffee grinder. It's a beautiful piece of equipment, a slender steel tube with a detachable crank on top, and it's a great little tool — the grinder is manufactured in Osaka, and the ceramic burrs have a satisfying, smooth play. Turning the handle feels good. If only everything was so well engineered.

Besides, the Porlex Mini is a secret handshake. It's tiny and meant for travel, so if you get one of these you're being elevated to the Sea Org level of coffee fanaticism — time to start packing a portable coffee kit when you hit the road. Welcome.
