The men of Honduras' "Mosquito Coast" have always dived for Caribbean spiny lobster, but as overfishing makes the lobster harder to find the divers have to go deeper and deeper to earn their living, causing injury and sudden, violent death. According to one doctor who treats the divers for decompression sickness, also known as the bends, "There's no difference between what is happening here and blood diamonds in Africa." [Independent]
