Alton Brown was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Friday night, promoting his new book Good Eats 3, the Later Years — "you can crush garlic with it" — and talking about holiday wine strategy. Turns out "wine just annoys the crap out of" Brown during the holidays. Maybe it's because he refuses to own a corkscrew? (It's a uni-tasker.) Instead he uses a drill and some sort of adapter and some hardware or, alternatively, swords. Brown recommends "an authentic nineteenth century French light cavalry sabre" when opening champagne. Anyway, tips and tricks for opening, chilling, and drinking "daddy's medicine," below.
