On Jimmy Kimmel, Jamie Oliver Tells America 'Food Companies Own You'

New, 2 comments

Chef/world saver Jamie Oliver was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, where he got updates on how Los Angeles school lunches are doing (no more flavored milk, but there are now something called 'potato smiles'?) and discussed the Child Nutrition Act. After declaring, "the food companies of America own you," he goes on to detail exactly how the well-intentioned Act got derailed: "These moron frozen food companies — pizza industry, french fry industry — have basically bought, bribed, bullied Congress, who have completely let everyone down, into basically making it okay to feed them french fries every day." Well, sure, french fries are bad, but pizza is a vegetable, right?
