Gilt City asks, since "you've always wanted to skydive, why not do it alongside one of the world's greatest thrill-seekers?" That's right: they'd like you to pony up $10,000 to go sky diving with "irrepressible daredevil" Anthony Bourdain. That seems like kind of a lot?
Well, they're also throwing in a post-jump burgers-and-beer date with Bourdain at Hiram's Roadstand in New Jersey, as well as car service from New York to the Pennsylvania skydiving site, dinner, and back. While that's still a considerable Bourdain premium — considering tandem skydiving trips cost $224 per person at Poconos Skydivers and Hiram's burgers are all less than $5— it should be noted that net proceeds go to the Food Bank For New York City. Go on, Bourdain "promises to make the perfect dinner companion."
Update: Bourdain tweets that his "cut is zero dollars and zero cents." Just the joy of hurling oneself out of an airplane and then getting a beer.
