If Paula Wolfert's new cookbook The Food of Morocco is an ode to the traditions of Moroccan cuisine, Mourad Lahlou's Mourad: New Moroccan is a glimpse at its future. Lahlou's Aziza in San Francisco is the only Michelin-starred Moroccan restaurant in the country, and Mourad focuses on both the modern plated dishes of the restaurant as well as updates on his childhood memories. The recipes are a bit more complicated than Wolfert's book, although the photography is just as stunning. Moroccan food, it turns out, is rather photogenic. Mourad is out now from Artisan (buy on Amazon); below, the book trailer.
