Oh, hey, ladies. Has "mixtress" Gina Chersevani got the cocktail-cupcake combo for you! Chersevani plans on unleashing "Cuptails" on her customers at the Washington, DC restaurant PS 7. And what are Cuptails, exactly? Glad you asked: they're "sweet cakes soaked in holiday "spirits" and topped with a little extra somethin'."
So many questions: does the fact that "spirits" is in quotation marks mean it's not actually liquor but the Ghost of Christmas Drunk? What's the "extra somethin'"? Cupcake vodka? Why a cocktail-cupcake and not a cupcake-cocktail, a sort of boozy cupcake smoothie? Why not call it a cockcake? (Answer: because everyone knows only ladies drink Cuptails, duh.)
Unbelievably, it gets better. First Cuptail on the docket: the Headless Horseman, for Halloween, which is a "a Pumpkin Walnut Cake soaked in Blanton's Bourbon and topped with Spice Cream Cheese Frosting." Nothing like a haunted cupcake/cocktail. Below, the full, amazing press release.
Can you have your cake and eat it too? You can at PS 7’s! Mixtress Gina Chesevani is creating cocktail-cupcakes, aka “Cuptails,” to ring in the celebratory festive season. Featuring sweet cakes soaked in holiday “spirits” and topped with a little extra somethin’ to spread the holiday cheer.
Gina will present one monthly holiday themed Cuptail alongside rotating list of inventive cakes. Riding into town just in time for Halloween is the Headless Horseman, a Pumpkin Walnut Cake soaked in Blanton's Bourbon and topped with Spice Cream Cheese Frosting. Along with the changing leaves, November will bring the Hazelnut Brown Butter Cake, drenched in Wild Turkey Rye and topped with a heaping dollop of Frangelico Whipped Crème, aptly known as the Pilgrims Pride. Finally, you better be nice in December, because you will definitely want a taste of the CandyKANE, a Chocolate Fudge Cake in Peppermint Schnapps and capped with Crushed Candy Cane Frosting.
Rotating Cuptails will include Newton's Nip, an Apple Spice Cake featuring Auchentoshan 3 Wood Scotch and Calvados Brandy Whipped Crème and the Midas Touch, a Toffee Pear Cake with El Dorado 12 Year Rum and Almond Crème. Adult versions of Coconut Pie, Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Rum Toddy will also be making festive appearances.
Mixtress Gina Chesevani is widely known for her innovative ventures in cocktail development and these alcoholic treats are no exception – it is sure to be a very merry holiday season this year at PS 7’s!
