Yelp Wanted

2008_07_yelpwantedsmall.jpgBloomberg BusinessWeek tells the story about how the owner of a Texan home improvement company posted an online ad for "a writer who can write and post 25 positive reviews" on eight websites (including Yelp, Google Places, and Citysearch). A man in Bangladesh took the gig and wrote 200 fake write-ups for $100. The only website to catch the fakes? Yelp. Something that the company is very proud of. [BusinessWeek, Yelp]
