San Francisco chef Daniel Patterson (Coi, Plum) is teaming up with a couple of restaurant designers for a microfinanced, crowdsourced restaurant in New York City. Called Elevens, the restaurant's plan is sort of like a Kickstartr campaign: 2,000 "seatholders" will all contribute $500 in exchange for special privileges at the restaurant, including a 25 percent discount (for life or until the restaurant goes belly up), the ability to vote on certain decisions, priority reservations, and access to an annual off site event.
