David Chang went on the Moth podcast to tell the story of the time former Michelin Guide director Jean-Luc Naret ate at his two Michelin starred New York restaurant, Momofuku Ko. Turns out Naret made Chang incredibly nervous — despite the fact typically "when a critic comes in [to Ko] we chant 'kill kill kill kill.'" It seems his dining companion didn't eat meat but didn't tell anyone? Awkward.
Anyway, at one point during the dinner Naret turns to Chang and asks "this question I will never forget because it sort of messed me up in the head forever": does Chang want Ko to get its third star? (Spoiler: Ko remained at two stars this year.)
