Virginia Restaurant Serves Food, Wine, iPad Rentals

Further proof that everything from the 90s is coming back in vogue: One Richmond, Virginia restaurant is updating the good, old-fashioned Internet café. The about-to-open S@mple offers scallops, lamb skewers, and a full bar. Also: hourly rentals on iPads (and laptops), which hopefully get wiped down on a very regular basis.

Some restaurants are busy putting menus on iPads, or letting the devices run the place entirely. S@mple sounds more like a restaurant-Geek Squad hybrid, with a wine bar, plus a back room that offers software instruction. Because nothing helps people master new technology concepts like copious wine consumption.
