Cake Boss Buddy Valastro Gets a New Show: Kitchen Boss

TLC announced today that Buddy Valastro — the master baker and star of TLC's Cake Boss and Next Great Baker and owner of Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, NJ — is going to continue his television domination with a whole new series called Kitchen Boss, a daytime cooking series that will "showcase Buddy's traditional Italian recipes."

The show premieres Monday, January 24 at 10:30 PM, and then the series the series moves to its regular weekday slot at 5:30PM, starting Tuesday, January 25. It's a a pretty unexpected move for TLC to compete with the Food Network in traditional non-reality stand-and-stir programming. Anyway, TLC has ordered an astonishing 40 half-hour episodes. Now, TLC is heating things up with KITCHEN BOSS, a brand-new daytime cooking series that will showcase Buddy’s traditional Italian recipes. Both series are ready to be served up this month – KITCHEN BOSS premieres on Monday January 24 and season four of CAKE BOSS premieres Monday January 31.

In KITCHEN BOSS, Buddy brings viewers into the kitchen, where he shares his family favorite Italian dishes. From his grandmother’s secret recipes to simple tips to make a more delicious meal, Buddy cooks everything from pastas and proteins to sides and everyday desserts that make dinner a family event. To help spice it up during the series, various guests, including members of the Valastro family, join Buddy in the kitchen. As an added treat, TLC.com will feature recipes, tips, and behind-the-scene footage.

A sneak peek of KITCHEN BOSS airs out of the finale of Buddy’s competition show NEXT GREAT BAKER on Monday, January 24 at 10:30pm. The series moves to its weekday home, 5:30pm, starting Tuesday, January 25. TLC has ordered 40 half-hour episodes of KITCHEN BOSS.

CAKE BOSS RETURNS
Buddy’s busier than ever at the bakery and CAKE BOSS is back for its fourth season starting Monday, January 31 at 9:00pm. This season finds the crew at Carlo’s Bakery tackling their biggest cakes yet – including a toilet bowl cake that actually flushes, a giant great white shark cake, and a visit from Rachael Ray, who works with Buddy to make a cake for her wedding anniversary. Buddy and wife Lisa are also expecting their fourth child, leaving Buddy worried about keeping up with ever-increasing demands at home and work.
