In an effort to settle the love/hate relationship citizens of Chicago have with their city, Time Out Chicago ran several pieces debating the various benefits and drawbacks to living there. As far as restaurants go, it seems Chicago has cheaper eats than Los Angeles or New York (about $20 on average, taken from two "buzzed-about" restaurants in each city). But Chicago also has a fatter populace, with Illinois ranking as the 26th fattest state in 2010 and California and New York coming in at 41 and 36 respectively. [TOC]
