New York chef Gabrielle Hamilton's memoir, Blood, Bones & Butter (preorder at Amazon) comes out in March, but this week's New Yorker features an excerpt from the first chapter. The piece details her father's annual lamb roast, an event which drew a hundred guests to the family's home in rural Pennsylvania.
