2011_01_bbb.jpgNew York chef Gabrielle Hamilton's memoir, Blood, Bones & Butter (preorder at Amazon) comes out in March, but this week's New Yorker features an excerpt from the first chapter. The piece details her father's annual lamb roast, an event which drew a hundred guests to the family's home in rural Pennsylvania. When the book was announced, Anthony Bourdain declared himself "choked with envy" at the Prune chef's writing; reading the straightforward yet engaging prose below, we can see why.
