Ruth Reichl Heads to Random House as Author and Editor

Since the demise of Gourmet last fall, food media has wondered what project its former editor would take on next. Today, we have our answer: Random House has announced that Ruth Reichl will be working for them, both as a contracted author and an Editor-at-Large.

Reichl has three books in the works already; there will be an Anthony Bourdain-inspired cookbook, The Tao of Ruth, a memoir of her years at Gourmet magazine, and a novel, DELICIOUS! As Editor-at-Large, Reichl will work with both new and veteran food writers, and it looks like she'll be dabbling in digital publishing methods as well as print. Which means the era of Offline Video Instant Shopping is one step closer to becoming a reality!
