Congratulations, American troops in Afghanistan! The Burger King that General David Petraeus hinted at last month? Yeah, you're officially getting them back now. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill has decided to reverse the ban on fast-food restaurants and retail stores on bases. Said Hill, "For troops to be able to go and grab a burger or a piece of chicken or whatever, I don't really think it's that bad."

Sadly, those at smaller bases will continue to receive only basic amenities. Such a "quality-of-life dichotomy" has actually prompted a fake motivational poster that reads "Afghanistan: Individual Experiences May Vary" to be circulated amongst the troops. The poster has photographs of "smiling servicemembers holding trays of fast food next to a group of dust-covered troops on patrol." It's like a literal (fast) food desert!
