On October 9th (John Lennon's birthday), in Reykjavik, Iceland, musician and artist Yoko Ono will be giving author and food rule-maker Michael Pollan the biennial Lennon Ono Grant for Peace, an award given to individuals for their contribution to world peace. Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band will perform; Ono will light the Imagine Peace Tower illuminated memorial. This sounds way cooler than having a tomato named after you. [Telegraph via GSNY]
