Wendy's Spectacular Employee Training Videos (1980s/90s)

New, 2 comments

Man, back in Dave Thomas' day, everything at Wendy's was just better. A Frosty was a Frosty, you know what I'm saying? None of this Frosty Float, Frosty-cino business. Just a simple, old-fashioned, chocolatey milkshake-thing. And the employee training videos! They had production quality, they had soul! Because the only way you can speak to kids back then was through the magic of music videos.

Below you'll find four remarkable relics from Wendy's late 80s/early 90s employee training materials: "Hot Drinks" takes inspiration from Michael Jackson tunes (even with the trademark "Oooooh!") while "Cold Drinks" uses a Debbie Harry-style rap because serving beverages is really difficult. See "Chili Can Be Served With Cheese" and "Got to Serve the Drinks" that also implore you to smile and be friendly. It's very important.
