Here's a report from the Wisconsin State Fair by Fox6 News about the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger (yes it uses actual, fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts, delivered daily). They interviewed Stacey (last name unknown) from the Machine Shed restaurant mini-chain in the Midwest, who said they had a dietitian analyze the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger and found out it only clocks in at 500 calories. Which is sort of unbelievable! But then it maybe is believable! Especially since a glazed yeast doughnut from Krispy Kreme is only 200 calories. But then there's the optional topping of chocolate-covered bacon, so that probably will throw off the numbers a bit.
She estimates they're going to sell 5,000 to 10,000 Krispy Kreme Cheeseburgers during the fair at $5/pop. She also claims that last year they sold over 100,000 sticks of chocolate-covered bacon (which is $250,000 in sales). In ten days. We're in the wrong business.
