Eater's sister site Racked NY turned us on to chef Marcus Samuelsson's upcoming kitchen collection for Target, part of the chain's local partnerships for their "Harlem Designer Series" connected to the opening of the Target East Harlem store on July 25th.
Featuring affordably-priced goods including placemats ($6,99), aprons ($14.99), towel set ($4.99), napkin set ($3.99), and potholders ($4.99), they're also for a good cause: Five percent of each product's purchase price will go to a Harlem non-profit chosen by each designer; Marcus Samuelsson chose The Fund for Public Schools in support of the library at Harlem PS 180.
From the slideshow above you can see they're neighborhood-themed, funky, bright, and fruity, or as one of the kitchen towels says, "What's Fresh!" According to Racked, the Harlem store will have the collections first on the July 25th opening, and then the lines will roll out to other select Targets and online on August 1st.
