President Obama visited Tastee Sub Shop in Edison, New Jersey for lunch today to discuss the economy with small business owners. The sub shop is a local tradition, and has been owned by David Thornton and Carl Padovano since 1972. Other area restaurant owners were also at the meeting, and are probably insanely jealous of the fact that Tastee was told "to expect a spike in business" after the President's visit.
Obama ordered the Super Sub, an $8.30 sandwich with five types of meat, but declined to order a full-sized, 12 inch sub, citing his age. He ordered a 6-inch instead.
