NASA would someday like to send astronauts on long missions — like, say, to Mars — but has a big problem: some space food goes bad in as little as a year. They do have seven items that last up to five years, but none of them contain vitamin C. Luckily, travel to Mars is at least 25 years off, so they've got awhile to figure out how to prevent space scurvy. [Wired]
