No Reservations Preview: Fish Head Curry in Kerala

New, 1 comment

On tonight's episode of No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain heads to a toddy shop in Kerala, India, to sample fish head curry and the local palm wine. Kerala is known as a hard-drinking area: his guides inform him that the region's annual liquor consumption is 16 to 17 liters of alcohol per person, per year. The kicker? Half the population doesn't drink, which means that those who do drink about 33 liters each (8.72 gallons). Compare that to 4.22 gallons per person annually in New Hampshire, the heaviest drinking state in the country. Sounds like a good time?
