Editing Top Chef

top-chef-editing.jpgNominated for an Emmy in the "Outstanding Picture Editing For Reality Programming" category, one of the editors of Top Chef explains what it takes to put together the show: "For every episode, there are probably 140 hours of shooting done by four cameras that are on for more than 12 hours a day... [Y]ou have to be able to give some attention to the ones that might be a little quieter because the audience can't get to the end of a season and wonder where one of them came from if they emerge as a finalist."
