The New York Times' Green blog interviewed a scientist who's trying to record the long-term impact of the oil spill on the food web in the Gulf of Mexico by looking at mollusk shells: "This is an unfortunate opportunity to address questions you couldn’t otherwise. This is an experiment on a scale you could never do. It will tell us a lot. Unfortunately." [NYT]
