Hundreds of chefs, TV personalities, school officials, and culinary leaders visited the White House today to launch First Lady Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaign Chefs Move To Schools. A veritable who's who of chefs and celebrities appeared, including: José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson, Rachael Ray, Tom Colicchio, Cat Cora, Susan Feniger, Bryan Voltaggio, Monica Pope, Anne Burrell, Aarón Sanchez, Art Smith, Marc Murphy, Daniel Boulud, William Telepan, and hundreds more. Some chefs including José Andrés and Anne Burrell furiously tweeted the event.

Essentially a a mentoring program, Chefs Move To Schools is a national initiative that will pair chefs with a school in their community in which they'll "serve as a healthy food educator and resource for the kids, parents, teachers and food service staff." The chefs will "create healthy meals that meet the schools' dietary guidelines and budgets" and "teach young people about nutrition and making balanced and healthy choices." It's like Jamie Oliver times a thousand, spread out all over the United States.
