KFC's Doublicious Tries to Ride Double Down Wave, Fails

New, 6 comments

Yesterday, KFC announced that they had a new, totally crazy sandwich called the Doublicious that will rock your world twice as hard as the Double Down did. They were wrong. From The OC Register:

[The Doublicious] combines a savory boneless chicken fillet with a sweet Hawaiian Bread bun for a one-of-a-kind sweet and savory taste. The Original Recipe Doublicious includes an Original Recipe fillet topped with bacon, Monterrey Jack cheese and Colonel’s Sauce. The Grilled Doublicious is a grilled fillet topped with Monterrey Jack cheese, lettuce and honey mustard BBQ sauce.

Snooze. This is a chicken sandwich with bacon, cheese, and, ok, a "special" sauce, with your choice of grill or fried chicken, which have rolled through fast food places before. While the Hawaiian bread (bread sweetened with pineapple juice) is intriguing-ish, it's not enough to make it meme-worthy.

Not to mention the fact that it's not even new! The Doublicious has been in test markets since February. Back to R&D, guys.
