Alan Richman vs Anthony Bourdain

New, 4 comments

Critic Alan Richman responded to Anthony Bourdain's recent attacks (context: Richman wrote a disparaging review of the Bourdain-associated restaurant Les Halles, and an entire chapter of Bourdain's latest book, Medium Raw was titled "Alan Richman Is a Douchebag"), telling Fork in the Road, "Is it possible to deal somebody like Bourdain a 'low blow?' He is a living, breathing, low blow. That's all he does. He lives it, exults in it, profits from it."

Richman also spoke to the New York Daily News, saying "I'm offended by him, and I'm offended that HarperCollins publishers put out this book. Who was the genius over there who decided the house that had given us Mark Twain and E.B. White should publish this compilation of vile thoughts? I wonder if there's such a thing as a class-action libel suit?"
