Today the Mirror reports that Jamie Oliver took a pot-shot at Gordon Ramsay, saying: "If I was to choose between Gordon Ramsay's cookbook or [his wife] Tana Ramsay's, it would be Tana's every time."
This isn't the first time the two have gone after each other in the press, and it most likely won't be the last. Here's a brief history of the Gordon Ramsay/Jamie Oliver feud.
06/12/09: Ramsay drew a lot of heat last year for making disparaging comments about the physical appearance of an Australian TV personality. Jamie spoke out against his remarks in the Sun: "Aussies aren’t forgiving. Once you’re gone, you’re gone... It’s never good to criticise a woman, especially when they’re loved by their country and you do it on national television." [The Sun]
07/16/09: A month or so later, Ramsay fired back at Oliver, giving him a fun new nickname: "Jamie’s a one-pot wonder.... Everything kind of gets mixed in — hands in. It’s a very different style to me. He sticks it in the oven, comes back three hours later and it’s done." [ShowBiz Spy]
03/24/10: While exiting an LA hot spot, Ramsay told TMZ that the last time he complained about the food at a restaurant was at "Jamie Oliver's Restaurant." [TMZ]
05/06/10: And today, via the Mirror, Oliver delivered this barb: "Men big everything up non-stop, but women tell you the truth. If I was to choose between Gordon Ramsay's cookbook or Tana Ramsay's, it would be Tana's every time. In my opinion, her books are a damn sight better than his." [The Mirror]
