José Andrés Brings Jaleo Restaurant to Las Vegas, Mexican-Chinese Fusion Too

Spanish chef (and avowed pineapple enthusiast) José Andrés will be opening not one, but two restaurants in the new hotel/casino/condo complex, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The luxury resort will also boast new branches of NYC and Miami staple Scarpetta, NYC's Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and LA's Comme Ça when it opens its doors in December, 2010.

The first of Andrés' new spots will be a branch of his popular Tapas spot Jaleo, which already has three locations in the D.C. area. The other will be something new for the chef: a Mexican-Chinese fusion restaurant, unofficial working title "Noodle-Taco." Andrés reportedly loves both cuisines, and is planning an extensive trip to China with the Mexican ambassador to that country later this year for research. The two new spots will be Andrés' first in Vegas, and his ninth and tenth restaurants, respectively.
