tony-may.jpgTony May, a New York City veteran of Italian cuisine and owner of the restaurant SD26, is not pleased with reviews he's received, saying: "To recognize authenticity, you need an expert... I don't think [critics] really take the time to study in depth what Italian cuisine is... most so-called critics today do not really understand the true flavors of Italian cuisine." So basically: No one understands how delicious and awesome his food really is and critics should go to Italy before they judge. [Village Voice]
