Richard LaMotta, the creator of the Chipwich Ice Cream Sandwich, has passed away. Invented at an ice cream parlor in Englewood, N.J. and in the basement of his father’s home in Brooklyn, by the time LaMotta sold his company in 2002, more than a billion Chipwiches had been sold. [NYT]
