Taco Bell just escalated the cheap food war to ridiculous levels with $2 Meal Deals that includes a taco or burrito, a medium soft drink and a bag of Doritos. You could buy 2 1/2 of these for the same price as a Subway five-dollar footlong! How do they do it? "The 150 million bags of Doritos it expects to sell this year will come from former parent and current supplier PepsiCo. Beverages typically cost chains pennies on the retail dollar." [USA Today]
