Cranky British Cupcake Haters

Cupcakes are taking Europe by storm, and a British journalist wrote 1,200 words about why cupcakes are "unsettling" and "overhyped," saying that it's "Time for the backlash to begin." But then there's an awesome quote from Steve Abrams, the owner of the legendary Magnolia Bakery in New York City, who just brilliantly defuses the whole argument:

[T]hese anti-cupcake people, are those the same people who don’t like children and dogs? I understand a segment of the population that’s curmudgeonly and anti anything that’s popular, but how could you bemoan a cupcake? It’s just something to eat — let’s not take ourselves too seriously.
