Spanish Chef Calls El Bulli's #2 Ranking "Unjust"

New, 1 comment

Basque chef Juan Mari Arzak is upset with the results of this year’s S. Pellegrino 50 Best list, not because his restaurant, Arzak, landed at number nine, but because Ferrán Adrià's didn’t land at number one. In an interview, Arzak noted "I don't agree (with the decision); (Adrià) is number one without rival," after which he said that if they weren't going to give Adrià the top spot, they should have removed El Bulli from the list entirely, as it is “unclassifiable”.
