In an interview with Media Bistro, GQ's food correspondent and dean of food journalism at the French Culinary Institute Alan Richman lets us know that he was the "original metrosexual" because he was carrying a handbag in the early 1970s. Also, he is not a fan of amateurs on the internet performing restaurant criticism: When asked if "citizen criticism has the potential to make full-time critics obsolete?" Richman replied, "I think it's of course disastrous. It's like asking your neighbor whether or not you need penicillin for a cold."
