Food Porn Episode of No Reservations: Just the One-Liners

New, 6 comments

Last night’s Food Porn episode of No Reservations delivered on its promise of luscious shots of meat, pasta, fish, and cocktails, going straight into Anthony Bourdain’s mouth. Porn King Ron Jeremy was on hand to introduce each segment, and Tony’s dining companions included some of New York’s great chefs, like Daniel Boulud, Michael White, Cesare Casella, as well as former NYT critic Frank Bruni. Amidst all of Bourdain's guttural sounds of approval, Tony got in more than a great few food/sex/drug analogies. On to the Quotable Bourdain — feel free to add your picks in the comments below.

1) On street meat: “Like rogering the farmers daughter in a hay loft, like a ‘stand up’ in the toilet at CBGB’s, it may not be elegant, but it’s a classic.”
2) On Michael White's sea urchin with lardo: "It’s sort of like, you've been snorting cocaine your whole life and then somebody gives you freebase?"

3) On Daniel Boulud’s charcuterie: "This was a crazy-ass venture. It’s like the internet or the first Stooges album."
4) On a piece of pig butt prosciutto: "It’s the best piece of ass I’ve had in some time."
5) On lardo: "Every day that you don’t have this in your life is a dark swamp of ignorance."
6) On Petrossian caviar: "It’s like cocaine for people that can actually afford cocaine."
7) On Michael White's lobster with burrata: "Seafood and cheese — it’s just not done. It’s like catching your parents having sex."
8) On Porter House's steak: "As Mario says, the filet is the Paris Hilton of steaks — no fat and not much personality."
9) On Jacques Torres' chocolate: "This is not food, it’s a drug, a sexist plot to keep women down."
10) On Porter Houses's aged prime beef: "I think I saw this on a website — www.holyfuck.com."
11) On Dale Degroff, master mixologist: “He alone is responsible for more people having sex than Barry White, Frank Sinatra and quaaludes combined.”

Here's a clip of Bourdain with Boulud and Frank Bruni, plus his seafood orgasm:
