Michael Moss and members of the New York Times staff won the Pulitzer Prize in the "Explanatory Reporting" category for the October 2009 article "The Burger That Shattered Her Life" detailing how a 22-year-old dance instructor was paralyzed by E. coli O157:H7 that was traced back to contaminated industrial frozen hamburger.
